I get talk to our investors on a regular basis about how the business is doing and what things are coming up that they might interest them in terms of their investments in us. This means I get a very different perspective on the business that I get from our Stores, Depots or Home Offices but it also means I have to communicate in a way that someone outside Asda or even the Retail industry can understand. No acronyms or jargon!

I’m an accountant by training so having a specialism like this means the financial side of my job comes a bit easier. However, I need to be very aware of the PR implications of a lot of what I hear and talk about so having a well-rounded understanding of business, politics, economics etc. helps me join the dots between what is going on outside and inside our business.

I’ve worked at Asda for 16 year and done 10 very different, interesting, jobs in that time. The variety and breadth of opportunity at Asda means I’d definitely recommend it as a place to work and build a career.
