Nicola Employment Relations Advisor

"There is a lot of opportunity for development within different teams across the business which are easy to find!"

Tell us about a typical day in the life of an Employment Relations Advisor?

A typical day consists of supporting, reviewing and responding to the cases that we currently have in our individual stack. This is usually around 80 cases. This could be anything from reviewing documents and advising on next steps to creating invite and outcome letters. In addition to this we are on the phone to Managers who require in the moment advice and support.

What is your favourite part of the job?

Having the ability to support Managers during difficult conversations and situations. Knowing that you have supported that Manager and had a positive impact on a situation is highly rewarding.

What advice do you have for anybody wanting to follow this career path?

Not be afraid to challenge Managers, or seek support from the rest of the team when advising. Some Managers can be challenging so it's important to be confident in your advice, but not be afraid to seek support from the team when needed.

Why would you recommend a career at Asda?

There is a lot of opportunity for development within different teams across the business which are easy to find.
