A typical day is full of both routine and change. Logistics is nothing, if not time critical.
The day can start in one of a number of locations – Leeds Office, Rochdale Depot where some of my team is based, any one of our 25+ Logistics sites, in a supplier location, with a partner retailer with whom we have strategic relationships, or with one of our haulier partners. Making sure everything moved on time the previous day and everything is due to get to its destination on time and in tip-top condition is crucial. Whether it’s Food, Non-Food or Parcels. As they goes, the nature of work becomes more forward looking as the teams come together to discuss and update on exciting initiatives in the making and progress on the big customer facing priorities.
All of this is peppered with 1-2-1 time with individual team members, joining conversations where Logistics contribution is required to progress on wider business goals, and of course the all-important Finance touchpoints.
