Asda do a great job keeping things simple, effective and affordable, without compromising on quality.
"I have worked for 36 years in Asda, a business where no one ever told me I couldn’t progress, or I couldn’t aim for the next role."
Managing a team is a challenge when they are all based in differing locations. Effective Communication and planning are key to ensure we all stay focused on the same goals and actions. A lot of each day is spent ensuring our field team on the road have the right tools to deliver in their role. Balancing home office and store requirements is an ongoing challenge to ensure our stores have a voice.
The fast-paced environment and the challenges that optical and pharmacy can bring in conjunction with working with great teams in home office and in store. Ensuring our communities and customer base can access affordable healthcare is so important to all of us. Delivering this every day is both rewarding and enjoyable.
Aim for whatever role you want within Asda. There is so much to take advantage of within our company. You can build a career and move around until you find your best suited discipline. Drive your own development, don’t sit back and wait for someone to do it for you. I now work in a highly regulated part of the Asda business and not where my retail background ideally originated.
Asda is a business where you need to be able to adapt and react with pace. It’s a lively environment with the very best people working here. I have worked for 36 years in Asda, a business where no one ever told me I couldn’t progress, or I couldn’t aim for the next role. It has a family feel and heritage that fits with my personal values.
