Senior UX/UI Designer - C10
Asda is one of the UK's best loved and best-known brands, with a head office in the heart of Leeds. We are looking for a Senior UI/UX designer to join our User Experience (UX) team.
We are currently rebuilding our entire digital real estate following our move to British ownership. Exciting, fast paced design projects abound, and the right person can have real impact.
The role
As a Senior Designer, you will be passionate about user-centred design and creating better experiences, with a track record of making the changes necessary to put the user at the heart of the design process. You will need to get hands-on in driving the shape of our products from scratch using customer research and business requirements, really championing the end-to-end process of user experience for our Asda customers.
You will be part of and supported by our squads of UX Researchers, Content Designers, Product Managers and Business Experts, all closely collaborating to make a positive, measurable impact on millions of people through quality products and services.
- Transforming complex tasks into easy-to-use designs for our customers using your knowledge of the UX process (research, conceptual design, prototyping, testing); working in collaboration with other designers, researchers, product managers and engineers to create engaging and cost-effective solutions.
- Responsible for creating wireframes, interaction design concepts, usage scenarios, prototypes, specifications, site structure, process flows and other design documents.
- Adopting best practice in usability and interaction design; providing advice and usability/ interaction guidelines to the wider business teams.
- Working with designers, developers, business stakeholders and end-users to deliver user interfaces across responsive web, mobile apps and colleague-facing software.
- Able to present and justify UX solutions and designs to business stakeholders and take and action appropriate feedback.
- Assisting in the planning of and regularly attend usability testing sessions/ review outputs and videos.
- Using web analytics and feedback from customers and colleagues to understand behaviour and identify areas of opportunity.
About You:
- A skilled UI Designer who is also an experienced UX thinker
- Experience in Product / Service Design for large Omni-channel organisation
- Experience of working in a Squad format and confident in representing user-centred design
- Demonstrable knowledge of usability and website interface and interaction design.
- Industry experience in designing responsive websites and/or mobile apps.
- Experience in creating detailed wireframes, site maps, interactive prototypes and design specifications.
- Experience in Figma, or similar design tools
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Good working knowledge of accessibility guidelines and considerations.
- Experience working within platform and service constraints.
- Ability to take an empathetic view of the customer and make complex interactions and processes seem simple.
- Experience in working with UX researchers. Helping craft research briefs and creating designs from research output.
- Experience in design handoff to developers, and QA of built features.
Desired Experience:
- 5+ year's relevant experience.
- Experience designing for responsive web, android and iOS mobile apps.
- Expertise using Figma, Sketch or similar tools
- Experience in leading UX projects & managing stakeholders
- Knowledge & experience of eCommerce or Service Design.
