Role Overview
In this fast-paced, exciting role, you will support the George.com Product Manager to navigate several product lifecycles. This is a wide-ranging role, which will involve defining the scope, and managing the backlog of a specific set of products which meet the needs of the George Asda customer whilst aligning to the business strategy.
With high levels of autonomy and a user centric approach, you will help to deliver solutions which delight and inspire our value-led customer whilst providing provable business benefit.
In this role you will;
Develop, own and maintain products which align with the George ASDA & Unified Ecommerce business strategies.
Be responsible for prioritising the George.com product backlog – understanding where the most value can be obtained.
Lead and participate in key agile ceremonies within the Product lifecycle during sprints – Backlog Refinement, PI planning, Daily stand ups etc
Be confident with data interpretation, utilising the various tools and insights available, quantitative and qualitative research, to drive forward your products, making decisions which meet customer needs and provide the most business value.
Likewise, you will continuously assess the value of your product(s) and be able to communicate performance to the relevant business stakeholders, making recommendations on the next steps (iterations).
Demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills – be comfortable with gathering requirements from, and translating your product(s) to, various business stakeholders and leadership.
Use your excellent written and verbal skills to define requirements and articulate these effectively with developers, writing clear user stories and acceptance criteria (using JIRA).
Have a good understanding of agile methodologies and the relevant tools required to execute your role effectively – Scrum/Kanban, JIRA, Confluence etc
Gain a sound understanding of the George.com customer, using this to be a voice of the customer and balancing their needs with the needs of the business throughout the product(s) lifecycle.
Work closely with your UX colleagues to ensure a user-centred approach to product design.
Be comfortable working with a number of 3rd party vendors to communicate requirements and optimise the respective features.
Understand the importance of, and undertake, regular UAT (User Acceptance Testing) to ensure faultless experiences are delivered to our customers.
Be a part of a network of product colleagues across the George and wider Asda (Unified Ecommerce) business, actively sharing learnings and insights, identifying areas of collaboration.
