Are you looking to join an organisation at a truly unprecedented juncture in its history where you can make a tangible difference? Do you want to be at the centre of a highly agile and exciting entrepreneurial, private equity backed consortium?

Having transitioned to new ownership, Asda continues to undergo transformational change, including significant acquisitions.  Not only does the business have ambitious plans for growth, but we are also implementing an entirely new technology ecosystem as we separate from our former parent, Walmart.

As part of the Internal Audit and Risk Management team, you will be at the forefront of supporting the business through this change; providing insight to effectively manage the associated risks and ensuring that the opportunities this presents are fully realised. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of building technology audit capability within a well-established internal audit team and would be well suited to an experienced IT audit manager.

Your Role:

  • Reporting into a Senior Internal Audit Manager, you will be responsible for building out technology audit capability within the audit team, including an IT audit universe.
  • You will work as part of a team to deliver risk-based technology and IT audits, value-add advisory work and risk management reviews.
  • You will lead, manage, and deliver internal audit reviews to ensure the audit plan is delivered in a timely basis.
  • You will review the work of more junior team members and be responsible for ensuring all deliverables are of high quality.
  • You will be a key point of contact for business stakeholders and be responsible for managing these relationships ongoing.
  • You will support the Internal Audit Leadership team in developing a risk based internal audit plan that addresses the key risks to the company.
  • You will support the Internal Audit Leadership team in preparing papers for key meetings such as Executive Committee and Audit Committee.
  • You will support the quarterly enterprise risk assessment process by engaging with functional senior management teams to update risk registers.

About You

  • You will be an IT audit professional (Internal or External audit) with a track record of creating value through assurance and advisory engagements.
  • You will have extensive knowledge of IT general controls and IT automated controls.
  • You will have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • You will be able to deliver messages with impact, both in terms of written reporting or verbal presentations.
  • You will be comfortable managing your own workload to ensure timely delivery of projects.
  • You will be able to demonstrate good attention to detail and an analytical mindset.
  • You will be able to demonstrate agility and will be comfortable working in a rapidly changing environment.
  • You will be great at working in teams, collaborating with others and building relationships with stakeholders.
  • You will be curious and interested to learn and develop.
  • Retail sector experience would be advantageous but not a pre-requisite.
  • Experience and knowledge in core IT platforms, cyber security and cloud technology is required.
  • Relevant qualification is required (e.g. IIA, ACA, ACCA etc).
