We are looking for a Data and Insight Analyst to join Asda Data & Analytics' Planning and Decision Services team within the Insight pillar. You will support & take a lead on projects that utilise the huge array of data our business holds to improve retail processes to drive the market share & profitability of Asda.

You will develop & deliver clear, actionable insight to a range of stakeholders in our operational teams & realise business benefits in space optimisation, sales growth, customer loyalty & profitability.

Please note this is an 12 month Secondment / fixed term position, but a high percentage of our fixed term colleagues secure permanent opportunities along the way.

Your Role

  • Contribute to insight, modelling and analtyics across the organisation providing a adata led approach to decision making and strategic priorities
  • Work with partners across commercial teams to develop requirements & opportunities
  • Work with a team to develop specific, actionable insight within agreed timescales
  • Support change implementation through stakeholders based on insight you provide
  • Agree governance to measure the deliverable benefit
  • Push yourself & the team to continuously improve performance through learning & development

About you

The ideal candidate loves data, is focussed on their own development & has a passion for driving process change. Your key strengths will include…

  • A pro-active and inquisitive approach to identifying opportunities to improve working processes and systems, having the confidence to question the status quo
  • Process/Value stream mapping & analysis
  • Experience working with data and data models capable of building models to deliver value
  • Retail experience in a large retailer or in an operations role in modular planning or finance. Ideally process improvement within these sectors
  • Being comfortable communicating at the right technical level to influence stakeholders
  • Either a proven ability or a desire to learn a new technical platform (Anaplan)
  • Passionate about working with data, recognising the potential to drive decision making and storytelling through quality accessible data
  • An ability to manage a complex workload of projects & deliver insight quickly when opportunities present themselves
