Do you want to progress your accountancy career by joining a key team in Finance, delivering high quality financial information to the business?

We have an exciting opportunity for a trainee management accountant to join the Controllership Operations Accounts team in a fast-paced Finance environment.

 Your Role 

The Controllership Operations Accounts team is responsible for delivering accounting processes and financial controls in a complete, accurate and timely manner. You will have a varied role across the month but with particular focus on the delivery of a high-quality month-end close. This includes posting journals, reconciling Balance Sheet accounts and validating supplier income. You will be encouraged to develop a continuous improvement mind-set to drive efficiency and the quality of the processes you transact.

This role will give you a solid grounding in management accounting and enable you to gain knowledge of a range of different commercial areas across the business. Within the role, based on performance, you will be given the opportunity to complete a Level 7 Accountancy Apprenticeship – which includes the CIMA professional qualification.

About you 

  • Highly numerate with an interest in pursuing a career in Finance. Practical experience is advantageous but not essential.
  • You will have an aptitude for working with numbers and large data sets, be an advanced user of MS Excel and have an awareness and interest in data blending and data visualisation tools such as Alteryx, Tableau and Power BI.
  • You will have great attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
  • You will have strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • You will be a team player with the ability to build rapport with both external stakeholders and colleague.
  • You will be a proactive self-starter with a positive growth mindset who enjoys working at pace.
