Are you looking for an exciting new procurement opportunity with a focus on technology?


Asda have embarked on one of the largest retail programmes in the industry, which will see us change or transform almost every aspect of the Technology estate, as well a significant amount of spend, previously managed by Walmart. 


As part of this we have an exciting opportunity to lead the procurement and commercial activity within the technology area.


Your Role  

The Technology Category Manager role has accountability for end to end sourcing activity, with a particular focus on software and associated services.

This will involve setting the category strategy and will include management of both Tier 1 and Tier 2 suppliers, critical to our operations.

You'll also influence and partner technology and business towers to help deliver our transformation activity, and help ensure a best in class technology cost base.


About you 

  • Demonstrable Technology Procurement experience
  • Knowledge of the technology supplier market and underlying cost and commercial models
  • Confident in defining, constructing and managing complex contracts.
  • Experience of influencing at senior levels within a large organisation (up to senior director level)
  • Ability to work in an agile manner to flex and support the business needs in a fast-paced transformation environment
  • Experience of defining and executing category strategies
  • Experience in Software and Professional Services is desirable, along with experience of technology transformation programmes.
