Are you an experienced IT Project Manager with knowledge of SAP systems? We are looking for a Technical Project Manager to join us and help deliver IT and business benefits including maintaining Asda/George competitive advantage, reducing costs, making upgraded functionality available, and aligning to non-functional requirements through the management of technical SAP projects.

As the IT Project Manager you will manage delivery of technical projects such as upgrades, patching, major changes to batch schedule etc. With a good understanding of SAP infrastructure and application component technology, the Technical PM understands non-functional requirements, and can converse with technical stakeholders.

 

Your Role

  • Responsible for managing the plan, quality and budget of technical projects- working with technical team to scope the delivery.
  • Follows Asda delivery methods and governance processes.
  • Performs project set up – including bringing together people from across Technology to perform as a team for the initiative.
  • Ensures specific tasks are planned effectively and delivery and completion are tracked appropriately.
  • Ensure risks are captured effectively with appropriate risk mitigations identified, including specific actions - RAAIDD log management (Risk, Assumption, Action, Issue, Dependency and Decision).
  • Day to day management of the project team and alignment with planned priorities
  • Creates and maintains project plans, including management of planning assumptions and planning dependencies.
  • Manages project stage gates, including preparation of gate materials aligned with project reporting standards.
  • Tracks and reports status of project deliverables through to completion, including communicating requirements to stakeholders.
  • Manages project status reports, risks and issues by tracking to due dates and escalating concerns where appropriate.
  • Manage teams to deliver on time, budget, and quality.
  • Manages and tailors communications for different project stakeholder groups.

About You

  • Have a PRINCE2 / PMI (or similar) certification and previous experience working as a PM on complex and integrated SAP solutions, ideally but not necessarily SAP retail.
  • Experience of various project methodologies across waterfall, agile, types, understanding of product and process management, and process transformation delivery projects.
  • Be proficient in managing complex project plans.
  • Strong technical background in SAP, possibly as a Technical Architect, Basis or Development Lead in large organization.
  • Knowledgeable in Technical KPIs and Monitoring
  • Understanding of Technical Architecture, Strategy, Tooling, Product Roadmap, Hosting (PaaS, SaaS, On Premise, etc
  • Experience of large-scale transformation programmes and projects - e.g. delivery of new applications, data center moves, replatforming
  • Service level agreement management
  • Strong people management and development experience - setting goals, identifying areas for improvement, influencing
  • Team building skills and experience
  • Training and knowledge management background
