Trade Planning Co-ordinator – D

An exciting opportunity to join the Customer Planning team and shape our promotional strategy.

 

About the role: Working cross-functionally, you will be a key part of a fast-paced business, looking after Promotions and Events. 25% of total business sales are generated from a compelling customer focused promotional program, so it is imperative that the correct planning and execution is actioned. We are embarking on a transformation programme to improve our systems and drive our strategy forward enabling us to land customer and data driven missions in our promotional space in store.

 

This role offers real diversity and challenge, as you will be working cross functionally within the business. Building strong and collaborative relationships with other colleagues and will be key to landing a cohesive program of activity. You will be working as part of a team of 9, whose roles will cover Ambient, Fresh, Non Edible and Frozen, so you will have the opportunity to learn and gain an understanding of several areas.

 

The ins and outs:

  • Management of critical paths
  • Holding internal teams accaountable for the critical path
  • Liasing with a 3rd party agency to create store promotional guides
  • Working with the extend promotins and events team to support on discetional promotional space
  • Financial analysis and reporting of promotional and event performance
  • Understanding the key drivers of incremental sales by category
  • Strategic planning of your area's promotions and events
  • Challenging traders to ensure the customer is at the heart of all activity
  • Gatekeeper of promotional principles
  • Communicating activity to store in a timely manner to ensure correct implementation
  • Liaising cross-functionally where stakeholder engagement is key to delivering market leading activity
  • Management of exit strategies

 

What you'll need:

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • The ability and confidence to influence others and negotiate effectively to achieve strategic aims
  • Strong analytical abilities and sound financial awareness, coupled with sound Microsoft Excel skills
  • The ability to spot and act on opportunities, to deliver ever-improving ways of working
  • Great time management skills, with the ability to prioritise short and medium term projects
  • The ability to flex your style, engaging and working across different levels of the business
  • Challenging the status quo and adding value where appropriate
  • A trading background would be beneficial but not essential, enabling you to understand the complex nature of different OD's
