The Marketing Science Manager is responsible for the Marketing Science team as an internal consultancy that helps Asda to grow by sharing insight that will help optimise Asda marketing, analyse historic media investment performance and what that could mean for future projections and to challenge ourselves, our colleagues and agencies.

  

The customer is at the heart of everything we do – you'll produce actionable insights that helps drive the business forward and you'll be involved in a variety of asks – understanding market trends, consumer trends and data sources, and then use the findings to advise some of our biggest business decisions. We're looking for an experienced marketing effectiveness professional to join us on a permanent full-time basis.  

 

Your Role

You will work closely with multiple stakeholders across the business to take important business questions and, through data analysis, deliver timely, accurate and actionable outcomes which can be applied to support commercial leadership.

  • Be a key driver of insight, modelling & analytics across the team and wider business providing a data led approach to decision making and strategic activity deployment through robust measurement.
  • Lead the creation and maintenance of appropriate marketing key performance indicators, ROI models, and predictive models for trial activity to determine effectiveness, provide optimisation recommendations, and influence marketing/trail activity.
  • Ensure all stakeholders are fully engaged with key measurement science deliverables: econometrics, testing and forecasting, campaign measurement, communicating key insights to the business in a tailored, collaborative and compelling manner.
  • Run advanced and predictive analyses and perform model assessments, validation, and enhancement activities, using predictive analytics' software tools and functionalities.
  • Create complex algorithms that identify patterns in structured data through supervised and unsupervised techniques to quantify the value to the business.
  • Manage trial preparation in collaboration with different stakeholders/internal clients in the business, contributing to the design and creation of robust strategies without bias or prejudice.
  • Lead execution of complex reports, identifying and interpreting complex patterns and trends, and translating those insights into actionable recommendations.
  • Directly motivate your team whilst also acting with leadership to indirectly motivate those in the wider function
  • Capable of working with non-technical end users to interrogate a business process or current tool to understand requirements and opportunities
  • Manage stakeholder engagement, create and scope clear project deliverables as well as setting timelines through continuous communication
  • Influence a range of senior and non-senior stakeholders to deliver an objective requiring the ability to debate and reason with logic and fact whilst thinking holistically

 

About you:

  • Measurment analytics experience in a highly data-driven, analytical environment
  • Proficient in statistical modelling techniques
  • Strong ability to translate quantitative data into actionable recommendations and to translate business objectives into marketing goals and measurements
  • Using data to answer specific business problems identifying key insights for decision making
  • Ability to influence with technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Communicating complicated issues in an accessible manner to drive action
  • Working cross functionally within key projects alongside other analysts
  • Measurement analytics experience in a highly data-driven, analytical environment
  • Comprehensive experience working within an organisation to deliver the measurement of trials and embed insights into decisions.
  • A degree with a focus on Analytics, Computing, Mathematics, Statistics, Marketing Strategy or a relevant analytical discipline would be advantageous
  • Detail knowledge of the measurement data, metrics and terminology
