Are you new to the world of Technology Service Support and looking for an opportunity to really boost your knowledge and experience as a Change & Release Analyst?


The Asda Service Technology team are recruiting for a Change & Release Analyst to work within the Change and Release Management function in Asda House. We are looking for an enthusiastic individual with strong organisational, planning and prioritising skills and an understanding of Service and/or the ITIL framework.  This is a junior role within the team where you will be surrounded by experienced colleagues who will train and mentor you to take your career to the next level.


As a Change & Release Analyst, you will be responsible for supporting both Project and BAU releases within the Asda estate, ensuring associated Changes are appropriately approved and successfully implemented to Production. You will also be involved in the administration and operation of the Change Management processes for all business and underlying technical services, to ensure any negative impact is minimised in order to avoid operational disruption to the business.  


The successful candidate will report to the Change & Release Manager, with additional responsibilities including the communication of Change and Release updates to key stakeholder groups and ensuring that all Changes and Releases adhere to the relevant standards and follow appropriate governance. Key stakeholder groups are internal ASDA Technology teams, third party vendors and ASDA/George business colleagues.

The Role


As a Change & Release Analyst, you will support the wider team to ensure that all Changes and Releases are fully planned and understood and will not result in any unplanned outages to the Production environments. You will support in the co-ordination and deployment of Releases for ASDA Technology and third-party applications and communicate the status of these Releases to key stakeholder groups via appropriate channels.  You will liaise with ASDA Business and Service teams to ensure all Change and Release activity is undertaken in accordance with the customers' requirements and within agreed outage windows. You will adhere to and champion the Change and Release Management processes, providing support for transformational Change and Release activities and demonstrating effective stakeholder engagement. Finally, you will assist with the upkeep of the Change &  Release Management SharePoint sites which acts as a point of reference for all colleagues to access anything Change and Release Management related.

About You


  • An understanding of IT and the underlying processes, preferably with a general knowledge of Service Management tools, such as ServiceNow.
  • Excellent organisational, planning and prioritising skills with a strong attention to detail.
  • Experience working in a fast paced, dynamic retail or multi-channel environment, preferably with exposure to the Change and/or Release functions.
