We've got a fantastic Commercial Finance Manager opportunity, responsible for driving performance improvement in Food. You will work closely with the Trading team, supporting the strategic direction, decision making and insight into commercial performance.
This is a new role within Food Trading and needs to be shaped as you will be influencing senior stakeholders and changing the perception of where Finance can/ should play a part in projects
As a team the focus is to develop and implement Business Intelligence innovations to create value for the business with insight and recommendations to the leadership team. We also play a key role in ensuring we deliver the trading plan through detailed category analysis on sales and promotional performance and active monitoring of gross margin, costs and inventory. We work alongside the commercial team to implement action plans
Your Role
- You will Business Partner the Food trading team and be an expert on what is happening in Food in Asda and across the wider market. Also, utilising the financial data to drive improvements in sales and through insight. It's important you understand wider business performance context and own the commercial updates at leadership meetings.
- Own the strategic plan and budget for your area working alongside the category owners to define their long-term plans and category roles with regular deep-dives to understand trends and opportunities.
- Strengthen the performance culture by holding the team accountable for their financial commitments
- Identify risks and ops to support improving our performance and changing directory on underperforming areas
- Support strategic initiatives as a key member of working groups, supporting on business cases and helping to define suitable performance tracking
About you
- You'll have a range of communication and influencing styles that you can deploy with your stakeholders and senior members of Asda's Leadership Team to drive performance and delivery to plans and commitments.
- You will comfortably challenge, confront and solve difficult situations whilst maintaining solid internal and external connections.
