Service Now Platform ArchitectTechnology

This position is a management role within the Asda Technology ServiceNow team. Responsible for ServiceNow Platform Architecture. The role supports Asda’s ServiceNow Platform Architecture, Implementation, Service and Delivery of our ServiceNow Capabilities (Technology, Customer and Employee Workflows). Following the successful implementation of ITSM, CSM and HRSD earlier this year, you will play a key role in the delivery of ITOM and ITAM in 2025 as well as further building on our overall platform capabilities

Responsibilities

  • Ensures the continued availability and operational strength of the ServiceNow platform
  • Work with stakeholders to meet Asda’s business objectives, utilising ServiceNow aligned to Asda’s wider technology strategy.
  • Owns and evangelizes Asda’s ServiceNow Golden Rules and MVP Policies (Integration Polices, Data Governance Policies, Configuration Policies, Instance Mgmt., Customization Polices and Platform Mgmt. & Development Polices).
  • Defines, guides and leads the execution of ServiceNow technical governance processes, ensuring the robustness of the platform.
  • Creates and manages key platform documentation artefacts for stakeholders, maintaining documented current state, configuration, and platform dependencies.
  • Responsible for ServiceNow technical solutions and collaborates with Asda’s Architecture, Data and Engineering teams to integrate into the broader technical landscape.
  • Accountable for all ServiceNow technical designs approval at enterprise forums
  • Sets and directs quality standards across the ServiceNow platform teams, ensuring good practice and use of the platform.

About You

Knowledge

  • The role requires deep and comprehensive knowledge of ServiceNow Architecture; leading architecture and support functions in delivering against functional objectives.
  • Extensive knowledge and technical skills of ITSM, ITOM, ITAM, CSM, HRSD, ESC and CMDB

Communicating and Influencing

  • Requiring you to build and maintain an extensive network of peers and contacts including at ServiceNow Steering board.
  • Where appropriate you will challenge and help to solve difficult situations whilst maintaining solid internal and external connections.

Influencing and negotiating

  • Across all levels in the business and with third party suppliers.
  • You will achieve results through inspiring and motivating your team(s) to act and deliver against the strategy.

Freedom to Think and Act.

  • This role requires a high degree of autonomous thinking as you set and deliver your strategy using your own experience and guided by broad principles and direction from the Platform Owner and Steering Board. You will work with the Platform teams to create your plans to achieve success.

Desirable skills/qualifications

You have at least 6 years’ ServiceNow experience working in a large/global environment in technical roles (development, architecture, implementation and platform administration) and you have a minimum of 3 years’ experience working in a ServiceNow architecture roles

ServiceNow Certifications; CSA – ServiceNow Administrator, CIS - ServiceNow Implementation ITSM/HRSD/CSM/ITOM

Desirable; Certified Master Architect (CMA). Master. Certified Technical Architect (CTA).
