“Find your role”
As well as a competitive salary, our apprenticeships offer you the chance to study for fully funded degree qualification. So, you can earn while you learn, and you won't need to worry about student debts.
Our 2025 Logistics Degree Apprenticeship Programme has been developed in partnership with the depot managers of today for the logistics leaders of tomorrow. This opportunity offers apprentices at ASDA on-the-job, real-world experience across Warehousing and Warehousing Management, and acquiring knowledge of our wider departments like Human Resources, Finance, and Health & Safety.
The degree apprenticeship scheme is designed to support our core operation. You will be based in one of ASDA’s warehouse depots local to the region you currently live in, this is where you will learn the operation from the ground up.
On our 4-year programme, you'll complete a series of placements in our warehouses, progressing at pace and taking on more accountability each year.
You'll also study for a Level 6 apprenticeship with Sheffield Hallam University. Delivered over four years through blended learning, the programme combines real management experience with online learning modules, lectures, and face-to-face tuition at university. We will of course, cover your costs and make sure you have time off to study.
We have opportunities in warehouses nationwide and will aim to accommodate you near your preferred location.
The Programme:
For the first 6 months you will work as a warehouse colleague, familiarising yourself with our warehouse operations before stepping up to a department manager.
As a department manager you will lead a team of 10 -25 colleagues who you will motivate to deliver the best standards across the department. You'll have an eye for detail, maintaining warehouse floor standards and coaching your team to do the same.
By the end of the programme, you will work towards becoming a Shift Manager, leading a team of 5-8 department managers.
Depot managers share characteristics and qualities that make a massive difference. They're tenacious, hardworking, and determined. But they're also empathetic and caring. The pedestrian 9-5 doesn't interest them. Instead, they're motivated by problem solving, being highly organised and passionate about keeping their colleagues engaged.
If you are ambitious and hardworking, the Logistics Degree Apprenticeship Programme will guide you, prepare you and support you every step of the way.
What you will need:
This is a 24/7 operation and therefore you will be required to work shifts as follows:
4am – 1pm or 5am -2pm 4 days one week and 5 days the next.
Shift and weekend working is a requirement of the role, and we may need you to be flexible with your work pattern.
Due to the shift patterns, it is recommended that you hold a UK driving licence and have your own transport.
Recently gained or predicted a minimum of 112 UCAS points
A minimum Level 4 in Maths and English GCSEs
Right to work within the UK and have been resident in the UK, the British Overseas Territories, or Crown Dependencies (Channel Islands and Isle of Man) for at least the previous three years before the start of the CIMA Apprenticeship (visit: www.Gov.uk for further information).

To ensure we balance moments where we know we need to collaborate together and the need for flexibility, Asda has a hybrid way of working with a minimum 3 days a week in one of our Home Offices. Each area of Asda may have additional requirements which may require spending more days in the office, visiting suppliers, stores or depots.
Our colleague-led inclusion networks, including our DisAbility, Race & Ethnicity, Women at Asda, LGBTQIA+, and our Wellbeing Network, are all about giving our colleagues a space to share their stories, experiences, and perspective. Supported by our dedicated Executive Ambassadors and led by our ten passionate co-chairs, our Networks help us make changes that make life better for every colleague.
Our stores, distribution centres, and head offices work in local communities across the UK – and we want to be a real part of making a difference for them. From our amazing 400 Community Champions to our charity, The Asda Foundation, we’ve got loads of ways to help local groups and charities. Our outreach programmes, grants, and Community Champions are all about listening to our communities’ needs – to shape projects and initiatives that will make a real impact for local people.
What makes Asda the best place to start your career? The fact that you can do just about anything here. And that can take you anywhere you want to go. But it’s not just the scale of what you can achieve, and the incredibly diverse and fluid career routes, it’s what you’ll get in return, the work life you’ll build here, and what you’ll be part of.
It’s really important to embrace change - customers want different things every day so it’s important we stay on top of it and keep up with trends.
