Cloud Platform - Senior ManagerTechnology

Leads Asda’s Cloud Platform Services Function within the Technology Service Operations & Infrastructure directorate. As a Cloud Platform Senior Manager you will be accountable for delivering, maintaining our Azure Cloud Platform along with the operation and continued development of the underpinning technologies and service offerings.


  • Act as a visible technical leader and evangelist for Asda's Cloud Platform services.
  • Accountable for the operational management of the platform to agreed service levels.
  • Engagement across all functions to maintain and deliver a cloud service roadmap, enabling the organisation to leverage the intrinsic benefits of cloud.
  • Delivery of technical change on the cloud platform aligned to the defined roadmap.
  • Responsible for ensuring cloud costs are attributed and recharged to budget owners. Drive cost optimisation to ensure Asda are getting value from their cloud consumption.
  • Responsible for governing adherence of delivered services to architectural and security standards/best practice.
  • Delivery and maintenance of design patterns and Infrastructure as Code modules to enable product teams to accelerate delivery of their cloud solutions.
  • Leading a multi-skilled hybrid team sourced from Asda and 3rd party suppliers.


  • Must have leadership experience in a function responsible for critical cloud platforms and services.
  • Must have experience of leading a function delivering value through agile methodologies.
  • The role requires advanced knowledge of Microsoft Azure, specifically cloud infrastructure, security, access management and policy.
  • Experience with working and migrating data products from on-prem to Azure.
  • The role requires strong interpersonal skills to build and maintain both your team and relationships with other stakeholders.
  • Strong communication skills are essential to successfully operating the function.
  • Influencing skills will also be key to build enthusiasm around cloud adoption and gaining support from senior stakeholders.
  • Highly tuned planning and organisation skills
