As a world class organisation, we offer world class training and development. For all our retail managers this starts in our Stores of Learning (SOLs).
We’ve 16 SOLs across every part of the UK, including Northern Ireland. A SOL is a typical ASDA store with a training centre attached. We invest between four and eight weeks training in all new retail managers and there is no other retailer that provides this level of training or support. Our SOLs are unique to ASDA and colleagues who attend them emerge qualified to excel in their new role.
Your training will be delivered by a range of colleagues, all of whom are experts in their field and it will be tailored to you and your role. It includes shop floor experience in a real, working store supported by classroom based tuition in our systems, processes and procedures.
Your training at a Store of Learning will be based around your particular needs and it certainly won’t end when your time at the SOL is complete. We continue to nurture and support all our colleagues throughout their career with ASDA. Last year, over 2000 managers who were either new to ASDA, new to management or new to their role were trained at our SOLs.
