At Asda, our Trading Managers work closely with our General Store Managers (GSMs) to help save our customers money every day. Their role is to put Asda's exciting and innovative trading strategies into action. Responsible for managing and leading a team of Department Managers and colleagues, our Trading Managers even deputise for the General Store Manager when necessary.

What do Trading Managers do?

As a Trading Manager at Asda, you report to the General Store Manager - while the individual Department Managers report in to you. As far as our different roles go - our Ambient Trading Managers are responsible for Warehouse and Grocery, while Fresh Trading Managers cover all fresh food departments. Our Night Trading Managers are responsible for ensuring the smooth running of the store at night.

The nature of the role of Trading Manager makes it a natural next step on from Department Manager. It's a challenging role where strong leadership skills are key - and an excellent learning experience for a move up to General Store Manager. And because it's Asda, you know that this progression will happen quicker than anywhere else.
