Hi, my name's Martyn and I'm a Check-out Runner.
I got into ASDA, I was at University, and I needed a part-time job to help pay the bills, and tuition fees etc.
Every semester you get a new timetable so if there's a lecture that moves into where your shift would be the Managers are understanding. It works around study, it works around you.
Most of the time, you'll find friends through work as well. In the past I guess I've only ever worked with really small teams, here it's always working with other people. That's big teams, lots of people you've got to know and get along with.
Everyday is different at ASDA, so everyday I might…be spotting things out of place…putting things back on the shelf…I'll probably be looking after colleagues…I'll definitely be looking after customers…tidying the tills…making sure some mess is cleaned up…tidying everywhere…and sorting out colleagues breaks.
And that's what it's like to work at ASDA everyday.
