Jane

Hi, my name's Jane and I'm a Home Shopping Driver.

In my nine years at Asda Hatfield I've worked in several departments and now I'm in home shopping. The difference between home shopping and store customer is that we get to go into their houses which is a privilege.

You've got the elderly, you've got the vulnerable, you've got the disabled - some of these people don't see anyone from one week to the next. You get to have a cup of tea and a chat, you've got to keep to the time slots obviously as you've got to get to the next customer but I like home shopping customers.

It is very hard work yeah, but that's what we get paid to do, hard work, but its fun too. There's a great atmosphere amongst the colleagues and we all go out after work and we all get on in work, its one big happy family.

I've done several courses, I've done a key colleague course for 16 weeks, I've done a fork lift truck course so I'm now a fully qualified fork lift truck driver, I've done a security badge with Chubb security and I'll be able to do an HGV through Asda so I can deliver it in something a little bigger than my van!

You can go on, you can be section leader, you can be a manager, you can end up as store manager. I'd recommend Asda all day long. The job opportunities are endless and I'm living proof of that. Just anywhere in Asda is great to work in, I've had a fun in every single department I've worked in - every single one.
