Hello, my names Ian. I'm a Driver Colleague for ASDA.

I've been working with ASDA for five and half years as an LGB Driver. I've been driving for twenty-one years since my boy was a little baby. General Haulage, European work and now I'm working for ASDA.

I chose ASDA for job security, level of equipment, nice place to work, clean environment.
My wife loves me working for ASDA, she thinks I'm a much better person since I came to ASDA. Basically she sees me every night whereas in the General Haulage game I would sometimes go to work on the Sunday morning and not get home until Friday.

They're a good bunch of lads that work for ASDA. There's no doubt about it, they're the best that I've ever worked with.

This is a huge operation, we service fifty-two stores out of this depot. And you can liken it to a busy airport as you can see around you, you've got trailers moving in and out, shunters coming backwards and forwards.

Hopefully in the future I'm going to try and do my driving assessment, driving instructors course. Obviously in the general haulage world you wouldn't have that opportunity to develop through the company.

There is a passion amongst ASDA for value for money. It is very much in our psyche to drive the costs down in order to keep the products at a reasonable price in the shops.
Ultimately I'm a customer too and I like value when I go shopping.

The best thing for me of the job is being home every night for my family and now I'm watching my Grand kids grow up.
