We love our Locums!

Naturally we depend on locums to keep our services going when holidays and sickness call for some cover, and we really value the part they play in keeping our customers happy.

If you're a locum, we might need you for short or long term cover, but we hope that once you've experienced Asda, got excited about benefits like paid holiday leave and a great pension scheme...well, we hope that you'll join us for good!

How it works

To help us and you, we've developed a simple registration process which you can access at: https://www.asdalocums.com/

Once you apply to join the Asda locum database, your details are checked against the GOC register to check your qualifications and within 24 hours your details are on the system for all our stores to see. Our Optical teams have responsibility for booking their own locums and stores are asked to plan their Optical cover at least three months in advance. So they'll go on to the database and contact locums by emails or texts with details of the available shift. When the locums respond, stores choose who they're going to book and confirm the booking. It's then very common for our stores to continue to book locums they know and trust.
