Hello. My name is Wilma. I'm the George Manager at the Livingston ASDA store.
It's a role I've had since 2005 although I've been with ASDA since 1991.
I became a George Manager when I was offered the chance because I've always been interested in fashion and this really was an opportunity which was too good to miss. After all, most fashion retailers would love to have access to the sheer number of potential customers which pass through an ASDA store.
A typical day includes overseeing the running of the department, organising colleague rotas, serving customers and helping to train new colleagues too. It's safe to say there's never a dull moment.
Livingston store is what we call our Store of Learning for Scotland. That means it's where all managers joining the business in our region are trained for the first two or three months of their time with ASDA.
It's great to have the opportunity to support the training of future managers in my department, seeing them develop their skills and get used to the George way of working. Although they're just "passing through" we always make them feel like full members of the team and celebrate all their successes and their achievements.
