We get a lot of interest and many calls from recruitment agencies and we can't possibly keep in touch with all of you. Although we do appreciate the interest you have in our business.
At ASDA we always prefer to recruit candidates direct to our business and believe in promoting from within whenever possible. This is in line with the ASDA way of working – we’re a lowest cost to operate type of business. Our purpose is to make goods and services more affordable to our customers. With this in mind the majority of the people who work here are recommended through family and friends or direct to us.
The success of our brand means that we’re also fortunate enough to be approached directly by many candidates, but now and again we may need help from recruitment agencies - who are on our Preferred Supplier List.
All areas of our business have a Preferred Supplier List (PSL) and we always stick to this. We’ve worked hard with our suppliers to build world class relationships and we make sure that this is based on trust and respect. Our agencies are always briefed fully on the role/s we need them to work on. Therefore we rarely accept speculative CVs.
We have no plans to review our PSL at the moment. Therefore please do not ask us to! We ask that you respect the relationships which we’ve built up with our Preferred Suppliers and follow our guidelines. We always work with our Preferred Suppliers to work on our difficult to fill roles.
When we brief you to work on a role, please ask the candidate to apply online via www.asda.jobs, marking clearly that the candidate has come through you.
We would always ask you to have met with the candidate personally and interviewed them too - as well as having followed up references and Right to Work documentation etc.
Importantly, we ask you to complete and sign our terms and conditions before your great candidate applies. Remember we only want to see the real superstars, as less is more, so only the very best candidates please.
Most importantly – do not contact any ASDA colleagues directly, all recruitment queries and communication should come through the Resourcing Team.
We ask that you don’t advertise on our behalf with our company logo without our prior agreement.

We no longer take on temporary colleagues through any agencies. All our fixed term roles are treated in the same way as permanent roles, so please see the section above.
We do not take cold calls from agencies who are not on our PSL.
We want to have a great working relationship with you – and we understand you want the same and are just trying to do your job. So we ask - please respect the way we work.
