Academy Development
There will be plenty of support to help you fast track your development at Asda. These include:
- The Asda Leadership Academy is the new online home for all Learning & Development at Asda.
- An event before you join us to introduce you to the business, the area you will be working in, and for you to speak to current Graduates on the scheme.
- A full induction introducing you to the Graduate Scheme, the wider business and an introduction to Asda's history, culture, beliefs and our current business focus.
- In-role coaching from your Line Manager.
- Twice yearly reviews with senior stakeholders, which are a fantastic opportunity for you to showcase your achievements and discuss your career aspirations.
- Two central development events each year that are designed to support your behavioural development as you fast track through the business.
- Behavioural and technical development modules.
- Academies – Academies provide technical skills training, which is specific to the colleague's role or department (e.g. systems, processes, job specific induction).
In Asda House, there are currently functional Academies in Trading, Supply, Marketing, Merchandising and Customer Service, and more functions are in the process of developing their own Academies for the future. In addition to this, the Asda House Skills Academy provides support with technical skills for all colleagues, e.g. IT skills and new to role Line Manager training. Outside of Asda House, Retail, George and Distribution have their own Academies to support the technical skills of colleagues in these areas.
