Take centre stage

To apply to this scheme you need to be an existing Asda colleague.

A graduate retail management career with Asda offers a clear structured path and more. As well as learning how to run a £multi-million business, you'll learn how to inspire the colleagues within your store and help to make a huge difference to our customers' lives by making goods and service more affordable for everyone.

As a colleague who already works for Asda you will understand the store process and know that it takes confidence, leadership and the ability to roll your sleeves up and get stuck into the day to day management of a store. Expect challenges. In fact, expect plenty of them. One thing's for certain - there will never be a dull moment, and you'll develop quickly too.

If you're not already working for Asda and want to apply to the Retail Management programme, then why not join your local store as one of our seasonal colleagues. This will give you the opportunity to work over our busiest periods like Christmas, Easter and over the summer holidays (great if your still studying!), to gain a real solid understanding of our stores and our customer needs. Supporting your growth

You'll be supported with great training and development from day one. In your first 12 weeks, you'll learn about all aspects of management in one of our dedicated training stores. Within just three months of joining the scheme you will be running your own department, taking responsibility for and developing your team, whilst driving sales and delighting your customers.

In your second year, you'll progress to a more demanding Department Manager role, maybe in a more challenging or larger store. You will be given as much exposure to the different departments in store as possible, so be prepared to take on a new part of the business. This will prepare you for a Team Leader role where you'll manage a team of Department Managers in your third year on the scheme. With commitment and a strong will to succeed, you could be a General Store Manager in as little as five years. Basically, if you want success, it's here for the taking.

Beyond our stores

The decisions you make and the activities you choose to get involved in will make a difference to the everyday lives of our customers. We're proud to support local and national charities like Children In Need and Tickled Pink - Andy Bond, our CEO recently cycled from Land's End to John O'Groats to raise money for charity. You too will be able to contribute to local communities through environmental work, supporting schools and through various charity events. Our colleagues are involved in everything from renovating local community centers to working with the local police to fund local radio stations and much more!

So, expect the unexpected and prepare to develop skills you never knew you had.

What do I need to apply?

We believe to give you the best start onto our Retail Graduate scheme it helps if you already work for us. Therefore you will need to be an existing ASDA colleague to apply. Whether it's a full time or part time position, or maybe join the team as one of our seasonal colleagues who help us through the busiest times of the year. Visit your local store to find out about current opportunities.

We consider applications from graduates with a 2:2 honours degree in any discipline, but if you have a related degree, that would be ideal. You will also need an endorsement from your Asda store manager.

Where will I be based?

This role is nationwide; you could work in any store within your region so you'll need to be able to get to different locations. Ideally you'll have a full UK Driving Licence but if you don't, that's ok, just be prepared to tell us how you plan to get around.
