The programme

The process to follow and what you can expect next

We like to keep everything simple and straightforward. The most important decision for you is whether or not Asda is the right business for you. Research as much as you can about us, visit a store and depot and talk to our colleagues. Find out what our values are and what we offer our customers. Whichever scheme you interested in it is key to understand that we are all working towards the same goals. If you think that Asda is the company for you, then go ahead and apply online.

Stage One - online application

The first stage of the selection process is to complete a number of tests and submit your online application form. This takes up to an hour to complete, but you can save your progress after completing each section so take your time. You'll then receive an email letting you know if you've been successful, and if so, when you can next expect to hear from us.

Stage Two – Asda Reality

If you’re successful at application stage, you'll be invited to come along to our assessment centre called Reality. Reality is an excellent opportunity for you to experience what it’s really like to work at Asda and gives you an insight into the role you have applied for. At the same time it gives us an overview of what you do well and an opportunity to identify any areas for development. You'll participate in and be observed on a range of different activities in a group and individually. There will also be some pre-work before you come along, so to help you with this, make sure you have visited an Asda store.

Stage Three – interview

The interview is the final stage of the process. You'll have the opportunity to show a senior manager and leader in your chosen area what you're about.

After your interview, if you have been successful, you’ll be joining the team in September.

Time scales

  • If you are successful with your online application, you can expect to attend a Reality assessment centre, which will normally take a few weeks.
  • You will receive your feedback from the assessment centre quite quickly and it will then take a couple of weeks before a date for your final interview is confirmed.
  • We aim to complete the final interviews by the end of July 2010 and your start date if you are successful will be in September
