The first point of contact

Whichever department you're leading - Goods In, Pick or Loading - this is the first level of management within the warehouse operation, and therefore the first point of contact that colleagues have with a manager. That's why people management skills are so important.

Within your department you'll be responsible for recruitment, training, performance management, disciplinary & grievance and health & safety investigations. You'll make sure the warehouse plan is efficiently executed on a day to day basis, motivating colleagues to strive for continuous improvement. Recognising and rewarding your team's performance and celebrating success is a vital part of your role as an inspirational leader.
