Where are we going?

At ASDA we’re passionate about what we do and this covers every single area of our business.

ASDA Stores

We’re proud to open new stores each year, and as one the UK’s fastest growing retailers, this is something we aim to continue. We are committed to building and operating stores in a sustainable way for the benefit of the environment and the communities we serve.

Our two low carbon stores in Shaw, Oldham, and Bootle, Liverpool, are helping us trial new technologies and programmes to help us achieve our sustainable targets. Our Shaw store is nearly 30% more energy efficient than a store built in 2005.

This is just one of the reasons we’ve been recognised as the ‘Multiple Environmental Retailer of the Year’ at the recent Retail Industry Awards and the ‘Most Environmentally Friendly Retailer of the Year’ at the People in Retail Awards.

ASDA Living

Our expansion plans for ASDA Living are exciting too. Our aim is to provide ASDA’s Living store format to communities across the whole of the UK within the next few years.

ASDA Pharmacy

From our customers, the number one service requested in our stores is a Pharmacy department. So this is an area of constant investment and growth.

George

For George our aim is to be the UK’s leading volume fashion retailer by 2011. This is supported by the recent launch of George.com making our high quality, stylish products available online for the first time.

Home shopping

Our internet home shopping business continues to grow and already we’ve increased the number of products we offer our online shoppers to include contact lenses, books, flowers, furniture and mobile phones. We also have many more exciting developments still in the pipeline.

Some things will never change

Retail is always changing but the one thing that will always remain constant is our commitment to offering low prices.

After all, we’ve won The Grocer 33 Lowest Price Basket for the last 11 years, and we plan to carry on winning it year after year after year!
